The Windows software behind an aerospace fastener measurement system, in production at Alcoa and Allfast years after hand-over, with no further work from me needed.

The problem the business had

An operator measuring aerospace fasteners had to read a digital probe, look up the matching gauge block in a table by head angle and diameter range, and compute the preset by hand, slow and easy to get wrong.

What was done

Software that reads the probe directly, finds the right gauge block, and computes the preset. Rebuilt the screen around the client's own engineering drawings so the fixture redraws at true proportions as the operator types, instead of making them read a table.

What it returned

Deployed and running at Alcoa and Allfast, and still in use years after I handed it over.
